16 extra COVID-19 circumstances within the London space, no deaths


The Middlesex London Health Unit reported 16 new cases of COVID-19 in the area on Saturday.

The total number of cases in the London area is now 6,084 with 5,786 recoveries.

No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the region for a week. The death toll stands at 181 as of Saturday.

The health unit reports seven outbreaks in facilities in London-Middlesex. The most recent outbreak was reported at Peoplecare Oak Crossing on Friday, while outbreaks are ongoing in Chelsey Park, Dearness Home, Middlesex Terrace, Mount Hope Long Term Care Center, Parkwood Institute Mental Health Care Building and Westmount Gardens.

Elsewhere, Southwestern Public Health recorded only two new cases in Elgin and Oxford counties, bringing the total to 2,455.

Across Ontario, 1,228 more cases, along with 28 new deaths and 1,313 recoveries, were reported on Saturday. Overall, Ontario has recorded a total of 291,999 cases since the pandemic began.
