46 new COVID-19 circumstances, one new loss of life in Middlesex-London


WINDSOR, ONT. – The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) reported 46 new COVID-19 cases and one new death on Saturday.

According to the MLHU executive summary, a woman in her eighties died of the virus.

The London area now has 6,821 cases of which 6,301 have been resolved and 186 deaths, 334 cases are considered active.

There are six confirmed variant cases and 92 screening positives.

There are active outbreaks in two nursing and retirement homes, a unit in the University Hospital of the London Health Sciences Center and a school.

The University of Western reported Friday that there were two active outbreaks in two of their residential buildings.

The Gray Bruce Health Unit is working with Edge Hill Country School to handle a school-related case of COVID-19, as well as Harvest Canadian Reformed School to handle possible cases of the school-related virus.

Health officials reported 2,453 new COVID-19 cases in Ontario on Saturday.
