Public health officials report a new COVID-19 case in a London elementary school.
The positive case was reported at the Prince Charles Public School, the Thames Valley District School Board said.
The East End school will remain open, the board said, adding that staff, parents and guardians have been made aware of the case.
The board of directors made no publication if it was a student or employee.
Only those who are considered close contacts will be notified and asked to isolate for 14 days, the board said.
“If you do not receive a letter from Thames Valley stating that the public health unit has identified your child as a close contact, your child is not considered at risk,” a statement from the board said.
“Thames Valley follows all health and safety protocols recommended by both the local health authority and the Department of Education, and schools remain safe places to attend.”
As of Saturday, there have been five active cases across four Thames Valley schools.
No active cases have been reported to the London Borough Catholic Schools Board.
