On June 4, the London Visual Arts Guild handed out awards to participants in the “Images” Community Art Show which ran May 5-29 at the London Arts Center.
London Mayor Patrick Closser chose a photograph of a giraffe by Debbie Walker as the Mayor’s Choice award-winner. The photograph was one of 47 entries in the show.
The public also got in on the action, voting for their favorite entries during the show. The People’s Choice award-winners included:
• Photography–Bob Rea for his photograph, “Storm Clouds;”
• Paintings and drawings–Ken Madden for his graphite pencil rendering, “Ole Farm House”
• Handcrafted art–Liz Lassel for her “Purple Flower Quilt;” and

Awards were presented during the opening reception for the current exhibit on display at the Arts Center–“Barns, Bees and Elephant Knees,” a combined collection of photography and art by Debbie Walker, Sondra Fox and Hilary Frambes. Music was provided by David Kennedy, a local talent attending Capital University under a full-ride scholarship for music.
