Art Wellbeing Workshop – London Arts in Health Forum

Come to our group art workshops to meet others, practice creative skills and discover the benefits of art for our spiritual well-being.

All classes are held at Bethnal Green Mission Church from 3:30pm to 5:00pm, with refreshments and additional options at the Beehive Cafe.

All courses are free, but if you feel able to, donations are welcome to help cover the running costs of the workshops.

All activities are based on beginner level and are designed to meet and practice creative activities. All materials are provided and groups are welcome.

Whilst this is a workshop for adults those with children are welcome to bring them – please email Heather at [email protected] to confirm.

The list of activities is as follows:

Friday January 20th – Making Plant Hangers. Various ropes for making the hangers and flower pots are provided. Please note that no plants are provided, you are welcome to take the plant hangers home and place your own plants in them!

Friday February 3rd – Dried Flower Pendants. Dried flowers and clay to make the pendants are provided, as well as paint to further decorate the pendant and varnish to apply.

Friday 17 February and Friday 3 March – Stained Glass. Various jars, primer, acrylic paint, sealer and gutta (contour) are provided. Gutta is a henna-like paste used to create an outline that gives a stained glass effect. This workshop is spread over two dates as the gutta (the outline) takes over 48 hours to dry, so those who wish to use it can draw their outlines on the glass on February 17th and then come back to paint and her Design to be completed March 3rd.

Friday March 17th – collage. Magazines, paper, glue, masking board, and various materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring any materials you specifically want to work with.
