A woman’s leg had to be amputated after it was crushed by a police nyala (armored vehicle) as it escorted Springbok players from East London City Hall amid a chaotic trophy parade.

Six people were injured during the parade.

The 20-year-old Walter Sisulu University student is recovering in Frere Hospital’s intensive care unit after a below-the-knee amputation.
