COVID-19 instances in faculties within the London space are on the rise

The Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) reported four new COVID-19 cases in local schools.

In a statement from the school board late Tuesday evening, Central and Winchester in Woodstock, Northridge in London and the Central Elgin Collegiate Institute in St. Thomas recorded all infections related to the schools.

Winchester Public School is looking into two active cases of the virus after an infection was reported on Monday. Central Elgin now has three active cases.

With the exception of the Central Public School, all other schools remain open. Central employees and students will switch to distance learning. A return to in-school learning is expected after the spring break on April 19th.

Close contacts between the persons concerned are contacted by the school authorities and recommended that they stay at home for 14 days and place them in quarantine. Thames Valley said Southwestern Public Health and the Middlesex London Health Unit are still investigating and following up on the cases as appropriate.

The TVDSB has 26 active cases in its school communities. You can find more information about the cases here.
