Just because we’re locked doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the lunar new year properly. As the year of the ox begins, here are the restaurants that put together special meals.
Yauatcha (London-wide delivery, available in February)
They introduce the oxtail pouf for CNY, a version of the famous venison pouf. There is also a new pineapple biscuit with an ox motif and the cracker – designed like fireworks and made from Yzu caramel, Szechuan chantilly, toasted hazelnut, madeleine sponge and coated crackers. All of these will be part of their Chinese New Year menu (£ 68 per person).
From Tai Fung (London only, February 11-18)
Din Tai Fung has a special Chinese New Year menu, including this shrimp and egg fried rice dish with scallop and XO for delivery or take away
Chinese park (3 miles from Mayfair, February 9-16)
The high-end Chinese restaurant offers a luxurious dinner. Dim Sum includes XO scampi, crystal truffle dumplings and golden scallop, as well as roasted Australian Wagyu beef and taro yam, special gold leaf cakes for the Chinese New Year and much more. Look out for a gold ticket which will give you a £ 150 voucher to the restaurant if you are lucky enough to win.
Hakkasan (Delivery across London February 1-28)
The CNY menu focuses on The Celebration Garden, an authentic Cantonese salad of smoked eryngii mushroom carpaccio with bee pollen and plum dressing. A dessert made from white chocolate mousse and cocoa butter, garnished with gold leaf and tangerine gel. And you can also arrange your delivery to have lion dancers performing outside of your home! (£ 88 per person)
Laduree (Nationwide delivery)
Laduree they have a new limited edition Chinese New Year macaron and an exclusive gift box decorated with Chinese calligraphy and symbols of the ox.
