CENTRAL Eccentric, ONT. – Those in need can now get support from the London Food Bank through four community hubs at YMCA locations in the region.
Thanks to the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, grocery boxes can now be picked up from various locations in the city.
Glen Pearson, Co-Executive Director of the London Food Bank, said in a statement: “It is important to partner with the Y on this food security initiative. They have a long history of helping Londoners of all backgrounds and abilities and naturally understand the importance of adequate health for better community outcomes. “
The aim of the drop-in service is to provide convenient locations for picking up grocery baskets in the neighborhood.
Locations and opening times are:
Center Branch YMCA (382 Waterloo Street) Tuesday 10am to 1pm and Thursday 12pm to 5pm
Bob Hayward YMCA (1080 Hamilton Road) Monday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Stoney Creek Community Center, YMCA and Library (920 Sunningdale Road East) Wednesday 11:30 am to 2:00 pm
Bostwick Community Center, YMCA and Library (501 Southdale Road West) Friday 11am to 2pm
