The London Health Sciences Center (LHSC) reports a slight increase in the number of inpatients being treated for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
22 inpatients with the virus are reported, one more than Monday. The LHSC is currently treating 12 patients for the virus, ten of them with COVID.
There are five or fewer in the adult intensive care unit, there are also five or fewer inpatients with COVID-19 in the children’s hospital and zero patients in the pediatric intensive care unit.
The hospital says it has 167 staff who have tested positive for the virus, up from 159 yesterday. St. Joseph’s Health Care reports 76 employees infected with the virus on Tuesday.
There are currently seven institutional outbreaks in long-term care homes and hospitals across the region.
The Middlesex-London Health Unit is reporting no new deaths linked to the virus on Tuesday, taking the death toll to 356. There are a total of 33,212 confirmed and 644 active cases.
There are now 639 people being treated with COVID-19 in hospitals across the province, including 179 in intensive care.
