The Garden Studios – including four sound stages – are more central than other large facilities in the British capital and are already open to film and television productions.
London will add another studio to its growing library of film and television facilities.
Garden Studios – announced by Arts Alliance Investment Group – is a new 62,000 square meter hub in Park Royal in the north west of the UK capital, more central than others and just seven miles from Soho. Although details were not disclosed, there are reports that there are already contracts in place with some of the major streamers and studios, some of which are slated to start operating in this room in Q1 2021.
The studios consist of two units and comprise four sound stages between 4,800 and 23,250 square meters as well as workshops, technical facilities, fully equipped offices and a virtual production stage.
Developers say the facility’s focus will be on sustainability, with plans to offset its carbon footprint by reducing travel traffic and a commitment to work with local supplies, from props designers, editors, sound designers, manufacturers, electricians, carpenters to local ones Catering companies and electric car services and other customer service.
The studio has already partnered with the nearby MetFilm School and will start an apprenticeship program.
“This will be an owner-managed company led by people with years of in-depth experience in many areas of the film industry and with success stories like Picturehouse Cinemas, Romance, Arts Alliance Media, Met Filmschool and Park Circus under our belts.” said the founder and CEO of the Arts Alliance, Thomas Hoegh. “Like all Arts Alliance companies, we want to demonstrate an innovative and passionate drive for inclusive community building, learning and opportunity for all.”
Marnie Keeling, Manager of Garden Studios, added: “I am excited to be part of this exciting new film studio and to work with a creative, dedicated and community-driven team. We are creating a unique space and hub that is leading in new areas technology while creating a home-like space. We look forward to welcoming the film community to Garden Studios. “
