The number of staff at the London Health Sciences Center (LHSC) who have tested positive for COVID-19 has fallen.

On Monday, the hospital said 195 workers are currently sick with the virus, up from 208 on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph’s Health Care reports that 77 employees have been infected with the virus.

LHSC reports 27 inpatients hospitalized with COVID-19. The LHSC is currently treating 14 patients with the virus and 13 for COVID.

There are five or fewer in the adult intensive care unit, while the children’s hospital has no patients with COVID-19 and none in pediatric critical care.

There are 56 new lab-confirmed cases as of Monday, according to the Middlesex-London Health Unit, in addition to 146 new cases over the weekend, 72 on Sunday and 74 on Saturday.

No new deaths were reported on Monday and over the weekend. The death toll in the region remains at 358.

The health unit is reporting nine institutional outbreaks in long-term care, retirement homes and hospitals across the region, up from Thursday.

Meanwhile, the province recorded four new deaths on Monday as the test positivity rate for COVID-19 rose to nearly 18 percent on Monday.

The last time it was this high in Ontario was late January.
