Middlesex-London Well being Unit experiences 20 new COVID-19 circumstances


Windsor, Ontario. –

The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) reported 20 new COVID-19 cases and one new outbreak on Sunday.

The area now has a total of 14,074 cases and 239 deaths (no new ones), with 13,669 cases resolved and 166 remaining active. There are 4,259 cases with a worrying variant.

Of the cases with an episode date in the last six weeks, 81.4 percent of the cases were unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or not yet vaccinated. The same group accounts for 79 percent of hospital admissions and 71.4 percent of deaths.

The London Health Sciences Center (LHSC) reports that there are 13 inpatients with COVID-19, seven of them in intensive care for adults.

There are ongoing outbreaks at five schools or daycare centers in the area, including; Lord Elgin Public School, Ekcoe Central School, Wilfrid Jury Public School, Kidlogic London and Chelsea Green Children’s Center.

Lord Elgin will remain closed until October 5th, and during the closure, students have returned to virtual learning. The health department reports nine confirmed cases to the school.
