Napoli Gang, Asma Khan and Chishuru to headline Style of London 2021

The Taste of London Festival is set for a big summer this year as it doubles the length of its usual festivities and makes up for last year’s cancellation.

The taste, which gives Londoners the chance to sample food from some of the capital’s best restaurants, will span 10 days this year – typically up to five – and there will be more than 135 dishes available for diners can immerse yourself.

Things will run in Regent’s Park from Wednesday, July 7th through Sunday, July 18th, with a two-day break on July 12th and 13th.

Open-air celebrations in 2021 include Napoli Gang – the Italian-inspired concept of the team behind Shoreditch Smash Gloria and Fitzrovia’s Circolo Popolare, which is normally only available for delivery – the newly opened vegan Flower Burger and Imad’s Syrian Kitchen, the restaurant by Syrian Chef Imad Alarnab, to be opened in Soho’s Kingly Court next month after months of coronavirus delays.

Others on the bill include Flesh and Buns, Sonora Taqueria, and Chishuru, the Brixton-based West African spot that opened for critical appreciation between the first and second lockdowns. Elsewhere, Rudy’s Vegan Diner, Fatt Pundit, Santo Remedio and Taka will cook.

As in previous years, there will be live cooking demonstrations and master classes in addition to the culinary pit stop tour through London. One of the biggest attractions is likely to be the fire pit, which, as the name suggests, teaches techniques for cooking over flames. Food Slut, the unfortunately named meat-focused blog delivery service from comedian Jack Whitehall and Marcus Petty-Saphon, will lead the pit alongside pandemic hit Hot4U and Caribbean pundit, Original Flava.

There will also be a Chop It Like It’s Hot flavor kitchen where top chefs share their tips. This year, among others, Asma Khan from Darjeeling Express, Jikonis Ravinder Bhogal and the cake master from Holborn Dining Room, Nokx Majozi, will perform.
