New “prime quality” meals supply app to be launched in London and Newcastle

A new grocery delivery app is due to be launched in London later this month as restaurants reopen after lockdown restrictions.

Gourmet2Go will be launched on March 16 and will support local restaurants, gastro pubs and “high quality” food box services.

The app, which was founded by entrepreneur George Thwaytes, will be launched first in London and then in Newcastle with the aim of expanding nationally.

George Thwaytes commented: “We set up Gourmet2Go to give high quality restaurants the ability to present their food in an app that only contains high quality food.

“For example, our market research has shown that other apps offer amazing groceries, but they stand alongside other options that are not of the same caliber.

‘We intend to fill a niche in the market for a well-curated app for customers, but also for an affordable price for those who sign up given the current circumstances.

“We all know the hospitality has been hit incredibly hard, but everyone wants it to be still there when this is over.”
