Ottawa will provide over $13.2 million in funding for 72 affordable housing units in London.
The Embassy Commons building at 740 Dundas Street is run by Indwell, a Hamilton-based charity.
It offers affordable rent for those struggling with the stability of their housing, usually related to mental health issues.
The building will include barrier-free common areas with communal kitchens as well as outdoor facilities.
“Indwell is proud to be working with the Federal Government to create new homes for Londoners seeking health, well-being and belonging. We look forward to welcoming renters to our supportive community from this summer.” Indwell CEO Jeff Neven said in a statement.
