Patricia Dee Obituary (1928 – 2022) – New London, OH


Patricia L. Dee, 94, of New London, died Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Norwalk Memorial Home. She was born on April 22, 1928 in Hartford City, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Lula (née Summerville) Casterline.
She was a 1947 graduate of Hartford High School. She worked in customer service for several years, but mostly focused on her family. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her younger days in Hartford City were spent playing tennis, ice skating, roller skating and bowling. She was honored as Queen of the Jobs Daughters. The Dee family briefly owned and operated a small airport restaurant in Hartford City, IN before moving to Carol Stream, IL in 1963. In 1970, Patricia moved to New London with her husband and five children. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New London, where she was a former member and vice president of the Alter and Rosary Society. Patricia was also a former member and President of the New London Garden Club. Patricia loved spending time with her family. Her favorite annual event was the Dee family reunion, also known as Run-A-Muck, where she was considered the “First Lady”.
Patricia is survived by her children Greg (Cathy) Dee of Fort Wayne, IN, Nancy (Rick) Copsey of Ludington, MI and Amy (Alan) Cawrse of Fitchville, OH; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Dee of Amherst, OH; 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Patricia Dee of Hartford City, IN. Besides her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Robert Dee Sr.; Sons Timothy Dee and Robert Dee, Jr. along with siblings Dorothy Krueger, Nedra Dee, Betty Campbell and Harry “Donnie” Casterline, and brother-in-law Lawrence Dee.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave., New London, where there will be a Christian funeral service at 11:00 a.m begins Follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed from 9:30 a.m. before the visitation. Memorial donations can be made to the Stein Hospice 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
