London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine “benefitted from and contributed to” British colonialism

The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine has vowed to “face up” to its past after a report exposed its links with colonialism in the first 60 years of its existence.

According to the report, commissioned by the institution to understand the consequences of its engagement with the British Empire, LSHTM “benefited from and contributed to” British colonialism in a variety of ways between 1899 and 1960.
