Men in the financial sector made up over a quarter of all London swipes in the app, while women in the same industry made up a fifth of all swipes in the capital.

The second most popular occupations for men were in computing and technology, although only 6.4 percent of all swipes were collected, compared with 26.9 percent in finance.

For women, the second best job was in health care, but that was also miles behind first place, with finance accounting for 20.3 percent and medical health accounting for just 8 percent.

Men in the financial sector were almost popular in twice as many cities as women in the financial sector. They only lost ground in LA, where entertainment professionals topped the list and finance professionals came fifth.

Women in finance were most popular in London, New York and Toronto, but lost top positions in Amsterdam, Paris, LA and Sydney, where the profession was not in the top five.

While a member’s job is one of the first things you learn about them in the app, CEO David Vermeulen warns that compatibility “goes way beyond that”.

“Singles should spend time making sure their dating profile shows their personality and passions,” he added.

“Whether you read, snowboard, or go to the theater, sharing your interests outside of work can make you bond with someone who is really on the same side in life,” Vermeulen said.
