The London Food Bank prepares for the arrival of Ukrainian refugees with earmarked donations.
“The thought of 1.5 million refugees suddenly being produced in less than two weeks is challenging. But we can all help,” the board said in a statement.
The organization will use its food collection system to help the London Ukraine Center collect needed non-perishable food, feminine hygiene products, diapers and other needed items.
Londoners can voluntarily leave donations for the Ukrainian people in bins at grocery stores across the city. All Tampon Tuesday collection bins at Shoppers Drug Marts also accept feminine hygiene products.
The board asks that you identify such donations by writing “Ukraine” on the bag, attaching some type of blue or yellow ribbon, or drawing a blue and yellow flag on the donation
The specially marked donations will not be distributed through the London Food Bank system but will be delivered directly to the London Ukrainian Center for the people of Ukraine.
