The Londoners set a brand new document for the 2020 Enterprise Cares Meals Drive in London

Although it’s a challenging time for London businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, Business Cares Food Drive is reporting a record-breaking number of food donations.

In total, the campaign raised £ 597,123 worth of groceries – a 34 percent increase over the previous year’s record for the London Food Bank and the organizations it supports.

“We didn’t know how we were going to conduct certain social distancing events, we didn’t know if certain organizations could attend, and so we purposely didn’t set a target for the organizing campaign this year,” said campaign chairman Wayne Thin.

“One thing we did know, however, is that London companies and employees always answer the call when people are in need.”

Business Cares Food Drive reported that the campaign had a lot of momentum from the start with a generous donation from the London Chamber of Commerce before kick-off. The campaign has also received incredible support from longtime participants including the London Home Builders ‘Association, the London & District Construction Association and the Golfers’ Care Initiative.

“We have seen firsthand the impact of the pandemic on Londoners. More and more people are using our services and it will only continue like this, ”said Jane Roy, Co-Director of the London Food Bank.

“At times like these, we see how strong our community is. We are honored and humbled by the support and donations from Londoners will have a tremendous impact on the lives of so many people. “
