20,000 tulips sound like something from the flower fields of Amsterdam, but it’s a spectacle to experience here in London.

The Eltham Palace Tulip Festival takes place in April on the 19 hectare grounds of the Art Deco / Tudor mansion. Not only can you wander among the flowers and take a few colorful snapshots, but you can also take a guided tour of the gardens with experienced gardeners. Learn about the different types of tulips and find out how the ones planted today resemble those of the Courtaulds, the family who lived here in the 1930s.
