Tim Hortons launched its first-ever Holiday Smile Cookie campaign on Monday and 50 percent of all proceeds from participating local stores will go to the London Food Bank.
“We’re up 43 percent over last year, which is huge when you consider how many people are coming to the food bank and we’re all feeling it, we’re all feeling the rising rents, the rising food prices and all of those things. So it’s really, really hard. This campaign will help these people enormously,” said Jane Roy, co-director of the London and Area Food Bank.
The other half of the proceeds go to the Tim Hortons Children’s Foundation.
“Every year we come together as owners and decide where to distribute the funds. The board came up with the idea and it was a unanimous vote and we are excited to partner with them,” said Sean Geraghty, co-owner of Tim Hortons.
Community champions, including CTV News London meteorologist Julie Atchison, took part in a friendly cookie decorating contest Monday at 939 Southdale Road. W. Tim Hortons in London, Ontario.
The promotion runs from November 13th to 19th, 2023.
