The French premium label Zadig and Voltaire has opened a new flagship store in London on King’s Road in the heart of Chelsea.
The new flagship store comes three years after the inauguration of the flagships in Paris, New York and Madrid. The new Chelsea boutique marks a brand new concept for the label, housing women’s and men’s clothing and accessories, including a recent collaboration with British model Kate Moss.
The flagship with an area of 1,292 square meters was designed by Studio Henry and is a first for Zadig and Voltaire.
Architect Charles-Edmond Henry took inspiration from Chelsea, known as the “artist district” of London, to recreate an imaginary artist’s workshop and use natural light to fill the large open space.
Stone, especially silver travertine, is used ubiquitously to adorn the walls, floor, and ceiling, while in the center of the store there is a tall hut covered in long black hair. It is this center of an “out-of-touch space” that customers wander through, explains the French fashion brand. The hut should create the way into and out of a “timeless place”.
Zadig and Voltaire’s new store is located at 164-166 King’s Road in London.
